A few details change the decision. Oksana’s pool and sauna are in a nearby facility, rather than a private pool inside the chalet. Les Rouses is approximately 200 metres from the Vallée Blanche chairlift. Valluga is around 500 metres from the Nassereinbahn gondola. Katalin’s wellness area is shared, and one described ski route from the door uses a blue run, so beginners should confirm access to their lesson meeting point.

Both Les Arcs options sleep 10 and list pool, gym and sauna or steam-room access. Oksana is £105 per person cheaper than Solomia in the checked snapshot. Confirm the location and access rules of the wellness facilities when choosing between them.

Les Rouses and Les Anemones differ by only £10 per person. Les Rouses lists a central location and proximity to ski school; Les Anemones lists heated boot warmers. Both have en-suite bedrooms and rooms suitable for cots.

Nico is the least expensive Méribel option at £1,349 per person. Laetitia is the only one of these six Méribel cards to list a hot tub. Eleanor has the highest operator grade in this group, but it does not carry that hot-tub label.

What the catered Christmas packages include

The offer cards show accommodation, flights, hold baggage, shared airport transfers and Skiworld staff in resort. They describe the stay as seven nights with six days of chalet board. Check your invoice and itinerary for the exact travel and baggage arrangements attached to your chosen package.

Skiworld’s catering information describes continental breakfast on seven mornings, hot breakfast options on five mornings, afternoon tea and six evening meals. Evening service normally includes three or four courses according to the chalet arrangements, with wine during the meal; the published menu also describes an Alpine speciality evening. On the host’s day off, breakfast is laid out and dinner is taken in resort.

For Christmas, the operator advertises a traditional festive dinner, chalet decorations and seasonal food and drinks, including Christmas Eve treats and a special Christmas Day breakfast. The exact menu depends on the chalet. The Christmas page currently identifies Wednesday 23 December 2026 as the planned host day off, subject to change, so allow for dinner out that evening and confirm the schedule on arrival.

The useful question is whether Katalin’s stated ski access and wellness facilities are worth that £900 difference to your party.

How to choose a Christmas resort for December snow

For a December holiday, check the height of the actual village, the terrain your group can use and how you reach the open pistes. A resort name alone does not tell you the altitude or convenience of a particular chalet. Weather can also change lift operations and the routes available to beginners.

Val Thorens’ official site places the resort at approximately 2,300 metres. Its published 2026–27 schedule lists the Val Thorens–Orelle area from 21 November 2026 and the wider Les 3 Vallées area from 5 December 2026. Those planned dates precede Christmas week, but you should still check live lift and piste reports before travel.

Tignes’ official winter calendar lists a gradual opening from 21 November 2026 and the linked Tignes–Val d’Isère area from 28 November, subject to snow conditions. Its villages sit at different elevations, so confirm the exact base of any Tignes chalet rather than applying the highest village’s altitude to every property.
